Here we go again: lockdown 2

The River Thames at Marlow

We are now in national lockdown again as from last Thursday. Without rehearsing the ins and outs of all the reasoning and arguments that seem have gone on, we are in the long-predicted second wave of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases. Simon Stephens, the head of the NHS, has made the case that in the absence of further action, the regional tiered restrictions (that have been in place for only a few weeks) would not stop the NHS being overwhelmed. Hospital admissions are rising to the extent that the NHS foresees being unable to cope, leading to the potential for large numbers of avoidable deaths.

Knowing the lockdown was coming, I took one last opportunity to take the day out with my son who works in West London. We arranged to meet for a walk at Marlow on the River Thames on a glorious autumn day last Wednesday.

I'm just putting up a few snaps from along that stretch of the river, which is one of my favourite places in the world. There were not too many people out and about on the Thames Path, but it was such a beautiful day I could not help but take my camera to record it.

FWIW, all the pictures here were taken with the Panasonic Lumix GX9 and the Panasonic Leica 12-16mm f/2.8-4 lens.
