I was in the City the other day, and I came across this scene at a coffee shop. For the last decade or so, people have been attached to their devices to the point where is is mostly futile (redundant and dull) to take pictures of people "on the street and on the phone". But, here is an example of a scene that could only be in the present day. One person on bluetooth headphones, one actually on the phone, and one outside on white earphones. Bluetooth headphones are part of the current - transient - zeitgeist, but white earphones are going out, as headphone jacks in phones gradually disappear. So, this really is three ways of listening, 2019 edition. It may not be long before this picture can be dated by the combination of these three modes.
