We've recently returned from a break in Madeira to get some late winter sun and warmth. The light there, coming from grey, dull Britain, was wonderful — all-around and in huge quantities every day. As the cliche has it: quantity brings its own quality; correspondingly the quality of light was gorgeous.
I got out on my own for a late morning/early afternoon wander around Funchal, and enjoyed for the first time in ages some street photography as shutter therapy. Given the light and the colours of the buildings in the old town, as well as the blue sky and Atlantic ocean, I loved working with the light and shadow, and blocks of colour. I'll just post three here to give a feel for it.
